First week of June, we were featured in the Birmingham News Sunday Business Section. Charles McCauley spent some time with me asking questions and did some pretty detailed follow-up phone interviews. It was good to meet such a professional reporter. But, we still got my hometown wrong. Oh well. If you saw the print edition, then you saw my hometown listed as Tallahassee, but actually I claim Tallassee, AL as home.

But, overall, the extra press exposure (and waaaaay to big photo) are GREAT! It’s nice when people take time and work with what you are trying to put out there.

It looks like all of our ducks are finally lining up and we’re headed towards development! We are also compiling names for our private-beta test. Invites for testing will go out on a first come first serve basis. So, if you have a mobile phone and want to witness the next evolution in digital content, click above and send us a note.

Hot on the heels of the Birmingham Business Journal article is a quick mention in the Birmingham News. You have to scroll down a little way to get to our headline, but it’s there!

I had a great 20 minute phone call with Birmingham Business Journal Jimmy DeButts the other day. His article on my winning this year’s Birmingham Startup is officially my first real media blip. Though I was a little disappointed in how my quote is nothing more than a confusing mishmash of some of my statements (let’s just say that I am fully aware that Galleypro is not the “first solution” invented for “print-to-digital”), it is always fun to see your name in print!

Such is the power of the Press– to make you kinda-sorta-maybe sound like you know what you’re talking about.

So please, keep stooping by so we can all keep the record straight and see all of the cool stuff coming from Galleypro, in the months ahead.

It’s official! We presented, along with five other teams, Monday night on the 34th floor of the Burr+Forman offices and we won! Here is the official announcement on the Birmingham Startup Blog and some pics that were snapped during the event.

Now… we focusing on completing the build phase! Sweet!

The first weekend is over and my head is still spinning. But man was that the best crash-course I’ve ever had! I was amazed at the caliber of professional folks here in town. The folks who came to talk to us this weekend are literally the “best of the best”.

Who would have thought that folks who are sitting at that level of achievement would be willing to volunteer a Saturday or Sunday afternoon to come help a handful of wannabes? Unbelievable.

Let’s hope we’re feeling this pumped after next weekend’s development marathon!
